10.4.07  Quick Update: We're just two mixes away from completion before we set out to
master the record. We're also in the process of booking shows again and hope to be hitting
the city soon. As of now, there is one show booked at the Brown Lantern Tavern with the
Oregon Donor, October 27th. This show is twenty-one plus. Hope to see you there.
8.23.07  Greetings, (insert pet name here). We hope your time since our last visit has been
prosperous and that life has brought you all the beauty and happiness you can handle. We've
been steadily working toward finishing our most recent effort which began in February at Orbit
Audio with Sam Winston. All the pieces are coming together. The new record entitled, "I Can
Say It Is Even When It's Not," is slated for early October release. Ten tracks of pure
Mouseheart to tickle your ears.
We are also in the process of lining up shows starting mid-October to support the
release. The record will be available at these shows and at key locations that tend to sell such
ammenities for personal, sonic upkeeping. Keep your eyes and ears open for it. Until then,
we're back to the grind. Give the kids our love. See you soon.
                                                                              Sincerely,
                                                                                   Mouseheart Factor
1.9.07  This last summer, we experienced one of the most discouraging things that can happen
to a band. As we were nearing completion of our e.p., our computer crashed taking all the
songs we had been working on with it. Luckily, we were able to recover a couple of those
songs but decided to take the work elsewhere. Over the last few months, we have been
working on new material and preparing for the journey to the studio. We've booked a few
days in mid february at Orbit Audio with Sam Winston and hope to come out with an actual
full length release. These recordings will include a majority of the songs originally slated for the
e.p. and a handful of new ones. With the completion of this disc, we will be coming out to
support our release. Completion will most likely be mid to late spring, so keep your eyes and
ears open. We've also booked a show this month at the Brown Lantern with To Spite Mike.
Check the show page. Caio.
6.27.06   Hello everyone. We had a great holiday season. Hope you did too. So much has
happened in the six months since our last update. Most recently, we've decided unfortunately
to part ways with our bassist of a year, Jeff Elliott. We all wish only great things for him in the
future. We  have nothing but the most respect for Jeff's talent and contributions to our music.
We've grown so much because of him.
Thank You.
Our former bassist, Tex Strizic, will be joining us again as we prepare for this year's
what-the-heck fest and more.
We're are nearing completion of our newest e.p. We decided to scrap most of the tracks
we had been working on over the last year and start fresh. The e.p. will feature four songs and
possibly a track recorded live at the Crocodile Café in February. As far as a release date is
concerned, we are shooting for late July/early August to correlate with a west coast mini tour
that's in the works. Argo will be sharing the bill for a handful of these shows.
We've also contributed a track called
"long division" to the what-the-heck fest
compilation
"Free the Bird" to be released on Kelp! in accordance with this year's festival.
Keep checking the shows page or our
myspace for update.
12.23.05  This last weekend, we played a double-header with Argo here in Anacortes that
was great. The show at the Department of Safety went well despite the lack of  heat  in the
building. Thanks to all the bodies who came to warm it up and listen to the great music put on
by Spy Island, Squid vS. Shark, Argo and yours truly.  We faired much better at the Brown
Lantern, the next night. The show was very well attended and most seemed responsive to both
bands. Our set went really well and  felt right to us. Things have finally fallen into place.
Sadly, that morning Argo drummer, Trent, slipped on ice and messed up his back. Bassist,
Jon Wooster, called upon a friend Kelly, formerly of the Luna Moth, to help them pull off the
show. They definitely pulled it together in under an hour and played a spirited set complete
with Justin grinding  his guitar into his amp while feeding back for what seemed like five
minutes and finally ending with Kelly, kicking his drum set apart across the floor. Thanks to
Argo, their ladies, and most definitely Kelly (for being a champion) for coming up, hanging out,
and being really great people. Love, Mouseheart Factor. The End.
In other news, we've been tracking more material for some sort of release that has yet to be
determined. As of now, we have (at least) skeletons of  ten songs, some closer to completion
than others, and a few left to start. We are in the process of booking more shows, so
constantly check the show page so you don't miss out. We know...it's devastating.
11.14.05  It seems as if it's been ages since we've updated.  Over the past four months, we've
been working and re-working material, relearning a few old songs, recorded some and started
rehearsing for live shows again.  We've booked a double header here in Anacortes with our
friends
Argo.  These shows will be at the Department of Safety and the Brown Lantern,
December 16th and 17th. (see shows page for more details)  Things are coming along quite
well and we look forward to what this winter and spring will bring.  There's no telling when the
new full length will be released, or even finished for that matter, but when it is...  Thanks to
everyone for their patience and support, and we hope to see you at the shows.
7.11.05  Greetings to all who still remember. We've begun the slow rebuilding process of a
structure that had recently collapsed with a new foundation. Mainly, two new members and
a far too quickly approaching first live performance. We've recruited Noah Richards and
Jeff Elliott as the pacemaker to synchronize heartbeats and keep the blood flowing to toes
and hindquarters different and alike. It's a tedious affair that we feel will reap unfathomable
benefits. Not only are these fine gentlemen great musicians, but they are just all around
pleasant people to surround oneself with.
Our first show will be at everyone's favorite local intoxication station, the Brown Lantern
Tavern, on 8.13 with
Cantona, a great pop band from Seattle. This is gonna be a fantastic
night of music and mirth. Sorry, but this show will require identification proving legal
drinking age.
We are still putting sounds down in effort to complete a new record. We've recorded the
basics of eight songs thus far with former members Robert and Tex, as well as our friend
gone "Los Angelized" slash drummer extraordinaire, Matthew Hermstad. We expect, but
will not be surprised by delays, a release date sometime in fall. Keep your eyes and ears
open for the goodness that comes.
There will be new sounds coming very soon so keep checking the music page...
5.29.05  As misfortunes tend to happen unexpectedly, we've been forced to part ways with
our rhythm section Robert Shapanus and Tex. We cordially would like to thank them for
the time, effort, and dedication to Mouseheart and wish them both the best in days that lie
ahead. Without Rob and Tex, we would have never reached the point we're at. We also
would like to thank everyone who has supported us. Opposite of such misfortunes, we have
begun playing with some promising new people and look forward to the progression that
will come.
In other news, we've been tracking material for a new full length to be released when we
reform. One of the tracks has been contributed to the What-the-Heck fest compilation
which will be available at the festival as well as through
KNW-YR-OWN and Kelp!
monthly. As the picture regains clarity, we'll be resurfacing from the underground...or should
we say garage.
